Why this film exists

I created The Novelist in my junior year of high school as a part of the My Røde Reel 2017 international film competition. Competitors needed to create a three minute short film and feature a Røde product in a behind-the-scenes video.

Reception

The Novelist proved to be more successful in subsequent film festivals rather than the one it was originally intended for. It went on to win Best Comedy (a Golden Lion) in the Golden Lions Film Festival. It was an Award Winner for the American Youth Film Festival. It was nominated for the Maverick Award as well as Best Comedy in the All American High School Film Festival, the largest high school film festival in the nation.
