Alice Dangerfield
Secret Agent Alice Dangerfield embarks on a rather important mission.
Role:
Writer / Director / Editor / Visual Effects/ Sound Design
How It Started
I created Alice Dangerfield as a part of Film Riot’s Stay at Home Challenge. Contestants had a week to make a 60 second short film set inside your house. I found it funny because while I produced this micro-short, I was in the midst of two other productions and really did not need to add more on my plate. However, I just couldn’t help myself when I saw the challenge, so I quickly enlisted my sister, mother, and brother to help out.
Final Thoughts
It was refreshing having a project with a quick turnaround. No rehearsals. No lighting set ups. Just pure run-and-gun amateur cinema. From script to screen, the production took about four days. As with any home movie, it’s certainly rough around the edges, but it was an absolute blast to create.
Aside: Home Movies
As far as movies I’ve made set in my house and starring my family, Alice Dangerfield is technically the fifth. It’s among other cute, filmmaker coming-of-age projects like The Showdown: Harry Potter Style. Don’t ask what the others are. They are long since buried.
