Journal 28: Crunch Time

February 29, 2016

I’m sorry to say, I haven’t done as much editing and compositing to the film as I would have liked. Crunch time is coming, and I need results soon.

We also need a trailer. Jack and I discussed this a few days ago. We were able to hammer out a sequence. I just need to get him a rough cut of the clips and he will put it together. Then he wil  round trip it back to me and I can color correct and grade it and add SFX if necessary. If things continue the way they are going however, he may need to do more of the sound design.

I’ve been looking into editing tutorials, seeing if there are any professional tips I can use to improve my cuts. Right now, I’m using FilmEditingPro a site dedicated to film editing. They have three in-depth videos that explain editing theory.

Last Thursday we began to write the final essays. I’m not too worry about it, I think these journals will definitely help with writing it. (It will be nice taking a walk down memory lane.) However, the main issue is finishing the project. It would be a shame to go through all of this work (28 entries worth!) and have nothing to show for it.

Today is Leap Day, tomorrow is March. One more month left for post production.
